About sara smyth

My story

I’m Sara Smyth (MSc Health Psychology), a holistic health practitioner and trainee health psychologist. I am passionate about helping women feel better in mind and body and feel excited again for their future.

As a younger woman, I spent years trying to fix my body,  antidepressants for low mood, steroids for asthma, diets for body confidence. None of it really helped. Looking back, so many women of my generation were raised to push through, people-please and aim for perfection. We were taught to cope, not to listen.

It took burnout and chronic asthma for me to realise that my body had been sending signals all along. Trying to “fix” the symptoms was like putting a plaster on a broken leg, it covered the surface, but it never addressed the root.

What I really needed was self-awareness and trust in myself: the ability to notice negative patterns, set boundaries, and start living in line with my own values.

Somatic practices became my gateway into that awareness. When I combined them with cognitive approaches, everything changed and I finally had the tools to make real, lasting change.

My approach to massage and holistic health

Based in Beckenham, I specialise in stress management, women’s health, and holistic wellbeing. I offer a blend of massage therapy, somatic practices (bodywork, breath and movement), and evidence-based health psychology to help you feel calmer, more at ease in your body, and confident in your ability to manage stress.

Whether you visit for a therapeutic massage in Beckenham or an online holistic health psychology session, my approach supports your whole health: body, mind, and environment.

With years of hands-on practice, my aim is to help you feel well now and build lasting resilience for the future

Who I work with

I support women at different stages of life, including those experiencing:

  • Stress, anxiety, burnout, and overwhelm
  • Chronic pain and ongoing health issues
  • Menopause and other life transitions
  • Low mood, grief, or simply “not feeling like yourself”

Whether in my massage practice in Beckenham or through online holistic health psychology sessions, my aim is to help you feel more grounded, supported, and connected.

The 3 C framework of holistic health: connection, curiosity and compassion.

This framework blends cognitive therapy with somatic interventions. It is the foundation of my women’s health work, creating space for insight and lasting change and helping you feel supported now while building the confidence to thrive long-term.

  • Connection: noticing your body’s signals and restoring a kinder, more trusting relationship with yourself.
  • Curiosity: exploring thoughts, emotions and patterns with openness rather than judgment.
  • Compassion: meeting whatever arises with warmth, patience and care.
